"Sloppy Joe" Recipe

Directions:

In a large skillet, sauté the chopped onion, peppers, and garlic in 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil. Once tender, add the tomato sauce, sugar, and spices. Bring to a boil, then add the soy "ground round." Mix well and cook for several minutes. (Serves 4 to 6)

Ingredients:

  • 12-oz. package of soy "ground round," crumbled
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 bell peppers, chopped
  • 3 cups tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons unbleached, granulated sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
